Everything about Mastros was worth the visit, from the service to the food. - Wagyu Meatballs with Melted Burrata Cheese: This was a a great indication of what was about to come. Perfectly cooked meatballs that were not dry. - Dry Aged Bone-In Ribeye 23oz: I love my steak medium rare and it was exactly what I ordered. Perfectly cooked with a great flavor from the beef. - Scalloped Potatoes: Definitely one of the best Scalloped potatoes you can find at a restaurant. Not too salty and the the perfect amount of cheese and consistency. - Truffle Butter Sautéed Wild Mushrooms: Great flavor without the truffle being overwhelming. - Creamed Spinach: This was good but just slightly saltier than I would have liked.

AHHH...The Thanksgiving Holiday is here so this means the usual: fighting the crowds at Safeway, AJ's and Cost Co all so I can prepare the traditional "American Thanksgiving feast" for my family. Note to self: the husband (no fish, no onions) mom (no heavy creams or sauces, low sodium) cousin (no asparagus or broccoli) sister (no gluten, sugar, salt...) my vegan nephew (no food with a face) Dad (plenty of Scotch). WAIT..NO..Not this year! I am not having company and in fact, I'm not cooking! We made reservations! This year it is just myself and my husband and I chose Mastro's Ocean Club in Kierland, Scottsdale. I made our reservation the beginning of November for a 7pm dinner. We arrived and waiting only a minute or two before we were seated at a window table. The place is crowded but you don't wait for service. We were greeted by our server, Rocco immediately and offered water, drinks and a bread for the table. The menu did not have a Thanksgiving Day menu which was perfectly fine with me, I do not like turkey. After asking Rocco's opinion on their steaks, my husband ordered the 16oz New York Strip ($71) medium rare and I ordered the sautéed Sea Scallops ( mkt) we also ordered a couple of side veggies. While waiting we chatted with Rocco. We wanted to thank him for working on a holiday, and hoped he got time to see his family earlier. This exchange led to an interesting conversation about Mastro's and the employees and I was surprised to learn that he has worked with most of the same staff for years! That made quite an impression on us. Rocco is a dedicated server for the past several years at Mastro's, and although he is not here is AZ in our hotter months I highly suggest you request him as your server. He has an excellent knowledge of how the dishes are prepared, everything is brought out quickly and you are checked on to make certain you are happy. This was a holiday evening and the service was impeccable and I can honestly say, even in higher end restaurants, that is not always the case: staff no shows, the kitchen running out of a popular dish or long wait times between courses can be found, but none of that was our experience on this Thanksgiving. Thank you, Mastro's and Rocco... Our food was delicious. The side veggies were cooked perfectly and my scallops (also came with its own garlic bread dipped in the sauce) were perfection. I am wary of scallops usually because if they are not professionally handled and cooked properly I'll immediately feel my tongue swell and have to grab the Benadryl but I had nothing to worry about. My husband's steak was perfect; if it was only for me! I prefer rare but he likes his medium rare. Unfortunately since they do serve it on a sizzling hot plate, and steak will continue to cook so it's common for a rarer steak to leave a kitchen only to arrive at the table perfectly medium rare, it was not enough and Rocco couldn't have been more kind and professional about having a new steak brought out to him. He was equally kind by buying our dessert for us and we chose their signature Butter cake. It was fantastic and I highly recommend it. At the end of our dinner, Antonio, another long time employee at Mastro's, quickly wrapped everything in boxes including the ice cream and whipped cream that came alongside the Butter cake. We thanked Rocco for the excellent service and for his time in taking care of us on this Thanksgiving Day.

The first time I dined here was for a business dinner a few years ago and ever since then I have been back a few times for various special occasions. Service here has always been consistently friendly, highly attentive and professional. The table was always clean, and our glasses never empty. Over the years, the items I keep finding myself going back to ordering would have to be the sauteed sea scallops, bone in ribeye, the rack of lamb, and the butter cake. The sea scallops are tender, buttery, simply melt in your mouth delightful. The accompanying sauce with some bread to dip in it? Magnificent. The ribeye and the rack of lamb have always been cooked and seasoned to perfection and the quality is always superb. Unfortunately, the butter cake isn't always consistent. Sometimes it has been on the drier side. However, what keeps bringing me back to ordering it would solely be for the delectable fresh cream it comes with. The ambience is classy and quite spacious, with elegant and modern décor throughout. Even though it's spacious and can get loud from the live band, it feels intimate because of the dark atmosphere. However, because of that, it is sometimes difficult to read the menu. Overall, this is a great restaurant option for business dinners, special occasions, celebrations, or just to enjoy a nice meal with a loved one.

A decadent and lavish dining experience where you will find waygu beef and caviar on along with off menu items. The servers are top notch. Platters of food are carried high for a nice show. Water glasses are never empty. Both dining areas were packed with live piano music and singing. We celebrated a birthday and certainly enjoyed the experience. It's darkened in there for atmosphere but also hard to read a menu. Servers do ask if you would like bread service to avoid waste. The wine was pouring and the bread was warm. We heard the list of specials. Two vegetable platters were offered with dinner. We chose broccolini and lobster mashed potatoes. Our order consisted of sea bass, petite filet, regular filet, water salmon, tuna tartare, maguro sushi, tuna tostada, lobster roll, clam chowder, fried calamari and spinach salad along with two bottles of wine. We loved it all being cooked perfectly and all so tasty. If you leave the table for a washroom visit, servers take your napkin and reroll them. Nice touch! An excellent dining experience and well worth the cost. Shared parking at Kierland Commons or valet parking in the busy center.

Another winner in Scottsdale . Located in the Kierland Commons. Much more quiet and quaint than Mastro's City Hall. Service was perfect (Thank you Johnathan from Brooklyn) . Food was fabulous and Martinis were divine... We sat in the Dining Room but if you want a little more excitement you can sit in the Bar and enjoy the live music (Friday Night). Parking is $15 for Valet. Self parking is available but you'll need your "walking shoes". Classy Casual all the way. Food was so good- forgot to take pictures but here's the bill for 3 very pleased women !!

Mastro's Steakhouse is truly one of my favorite restaurants. The consistent elegance and exceptional service make it a memorable dining experience every time you visit. The food at Mastro's is consistently outstanding, leaving you satisfied and eager to return. To start off my meal, I always indulge in their colossal shrimp cocktail, which I describe as the best shrimp cocktail I've ever had. The combination of the fresh, humongous shrimp and the flavorful cocktail sauce creates a truly memorable dish. Following that, I enjoyed their fantastic and lobster-loaded lobster bisque. The abundance of lobster in the bisque sets it apart from other steakhouse options. Before diving into my main course, I make sure to leave room for the house salad, which is the best house salad I've ever had. Topped with shrimp, this salad is a true delight and often requires sharing due to its generous portion. And finally, the star of the show, the bone-in ribeye cooked to a perfect medium-rare. Served sizzling hot and bursting with flavor, this steak is the ultimate indulgence. Pairing it with a nice bottle of Cabernet Sauvignon enhances the dining experience even further. And the butter cake!!! Must have dessert . . . That fresh whipped cream . . . Leaves me speechless. I highly recommend Mastro's Steakhouse not only for special occasions but for any occasion that calls for a delicious and satisfying meal. Whether you're celebrating or simply hungry, Mastro's will provide you with an exceptional dining experience that consistently exceeds your expectations.

Our reservation was New Year's Eve. The staff greeted us promptly and were friendly. The restaurant was beautiful and ready for the New Year. I wish we would've sat by the bar but it was still a great experience. Rocco was our server and he was great. The reason for only 4 stars is because our food selections. The calamari and crab cakes are awesome. Tuna tartare was just okay. We had scallops (just okay), filet (good), sea bass (fantastic), blackened salmon (fantastic), and pork chop (really good). Our side dishes lobster mashed potatoes was very good. Mac and cheese lobster was just okay. Broccolini wasn't good, very bland taste. Roasted brussel sprouts were burnt. It was worth it but just don't get the vegetable sides.
